Chef Smita

Smita Vasant, originally from India has lived in the US for more than 28 years.  She is well known for her simple Indian recipes and has been written about in the Los Angeles times as well as the Orange County Register.  Smita is the founder of Neemo’s Exotic Ice creams, a brand of Indian style ice cream and Saffron Spot, a popular snack bar in Artesia, which features her exotic ice cream creations and other unique foods and desserts.

Smita participates in cultural and charity activities and is a board member of the Los Angeles Mumbai Sister Cities Affiliation and an ambassador for Childraise, a charity organization in her hometown Mumbai which provides resources and guidance for children with disabilities.
